I've been a private art tutor for children and young people since 2013 and I love it! I work with some of the most wonderful little artists, and I adore seeing their artwork (and confidence) grow as they experiment with lots of different art materials.
Many of my students start lessons as tiny children and I have the joy of tutoring them through their teenage years, I find art to be an excellent mindfulness activity for stressed kids. Whilst we often spend lessons devoted to school artwork (like GCSE coursework), we also do lots of fun and exciting activities too!
I love letting my students choose a crazy project idea, and then I can guide them through it, showing them techniques along the way. Each student works on totally different things - some like to do watercolour landscapes, whereas others may prefer clay or digital art. In some lessons we paint on our trainers and create personalised footwear, sometimes we tie-dye t-shirts, or other times we delves into an imaginative illustrated world of fairies and elves.
I have a wide range of professional art materials available for use, including watercolour inks, Brusho and acrylics. I absolutely love buying new art materials, and always have high-quality paper available for my students to use.
Art lessons are always fun - we often have music playing, I have a chocolate jar, there's occasional cat cuddles (when Leo, Pansy and Buggie oblige...) and there's lots of talking (if the student wishes). My art lessons are all bespoke and totally different for each student, which makes it so exciting!
